The PROIC ("Programa de Iniciação Científica", formerly known as PIC and before that as the "Programa Institucional de Bolsas de Iniciação Científica" - PIBIC) has been the PEJ's mainstay, with promising results over the past years. The undergraduates enlisted may be funded or voluntary (there is a quota limitation per responsible fellow), but all their activities are subordinated to the regulations of the "Decanato de Pesquisa e Pós-Graduação" (DPP) of the Universidade de Brasília.
PROIC-UnB is regulated by resolution DPP no.4/2006.
